Bye Bye Credit Card!!

, ,

I got out of credit card debt! Hallelujah!!

I no longer owe money to my credit card. I managed to pay off nearly $2,000 in roughly 4 months. The sense of relief felt after the last payment was astounding! Never have I felt so happy and free in quite some time.

After reading countless articles on eliminating credit card debt and receiving countless collection calls, I made a plan to finish paying off the card by the end of 2015. I was lucky to complete this goal way before the end date. It all started when I received a temporary promotion with a pay raise. Now I probably would have finished the card a lot faster had the position been full time but I digress. The plan was to allocate roughly $200+ every statement cycle until the balance was $0, I figured it would take 8-9 months if I was diligent but with an unpredictable part time the end date could be later.

From November 2014 to February 2015 I paid $200 and change, after filing taxes I applied all of the federal return along with an extra $200 to completely annihilate the debt. As of March 20, 2015- I am debt free!!

I don’t owe the credit card company, I don’t have to get multiple collection calls everyday from 8am-8pm. I just don’t have that dark cloud hanging over my head. Now I can live! I can concentrate on other things like actually having money in my account to splurge on Sephora or DSW.  😉

Taking this time to breathe and start repairing my credit and finally accomplishing some more of my goals.

And the anxiety has returned……

, , , , , ,

I feel suffocated! Stifled!

I find it hard to think, to breathe, to relax, to live, to just be.

I’m feeling ever anxious. It can be described as being in deep, dark underground ditch with the walls slowing closing in like sand from all sides all the while screaming at the top of my lungs without sound or better yet like this: ~Thanks Huck! You keep it 💯!  The sheer frustration is just too much.

The feeling of not being heard, appreciated, understood, accepted or just being is an ongoing struggle. Feeling like a doll, an imposter, a bird being held captive in cage where it cannot sing is enough to make anyone go mad. I wonder if one needs the approval or permission to completely lose it or is that insanity in and of itself? Would it even matter?

What to do when its just too much? The same thing that I did, have a quick chat with a friend then go for a walk and not think or try not to think. To participate in retail therapy by buying one small item. A small reward for the pleasure center of the brain. Hooray for Sephora!!

The Fit Life

, , ,

Oh! What have I done?!

I have officially joined a gym franchise. I am now a card-carrying member of the fit club. Now I have no excuse; yea right, I still have excuses-I am a natural procrastinator after all. This is step 1 in getting myself into the physique that I dream about, the physical fitness that I pin about; the strong, curvy, athletic radiant beauty with a gorgeous head of long curly hair. My! What a pretty dream. 😉

While most have a goal of losing weight, my goal is to gain weight. The struggle is real! The lazy way hasn’t worked for me so I’m trying a different approach-Strength Training. Just saying it seems so monumental, so final.

As of today I have been to the gym once, it was ok. Not bad for a first timer, I really need to do more preparing just to feel much more comfortable and get into a routine. Guess I need to use up my free personal trainer option soon. I wonder which questions I should ask to help me achieve my goal. Any suggestions?

And Boredom Sets In…

I AM BORED!!! It’s so boring! Everything is boring!

Nothing is interesting anymore, I finally have a slowdown in work and I can’t be bothered to do any of the things that captivate my imagination. I’m just interested in eating snacks and lots of it. I’m not interested in any of the things that I could count on to cure my boredom; my hair, Pinterest or online shopping.

The hunt for a new conditioner continues but I’m not interested in any of the brands currently on the market, not even DIY. I’m even looking for a new body lotion – to shake things up but again, not interested in any of the brands sitting on shelves. What is a girl to do?

I have also, been meaning to clear out some clutter by going through my clothes, shredding some papers, etc. I still haven’t gotten around to doing any of the those things. By the time I find the motivation to try to accomplish these things, it’s 2am and my family is sleeping; so that kills my vibe. 😦

OH! What am I to do? How will I cure this?

How do you cure your boredom? Let me know in the comments below. 😉

Happy New Year!

Well Hello!

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful 1st day of the year. I know I have. May 2015 be a good year to each and every one of you. If you have resolutions, may you keep them.

How many of you have resolutions and what are they? Let me know in the comments below. 😉

The holiday season is officially in full swing; Thanksgiving has come and gone (hope everyone enjoyed it)– the giant Christmas tree has been lit in Rockefeller Center and the cold has set in. (Oh! this blasted cold!!) During this season of greetings and gratefulness, there has been much to contemplate about. This is definitely a season of change, it’s simmering in the background threatening to boil over. Change is inevitable; it’s difficult sometimes even unwanted but inevitable nonetheless. It is the one thing you can be certain of. I wonder of the forms that will arise from this coming change. I’m brimming with excitement and trepidation; the anticipation is killing me! 😉

Is it time to hibernate yet?

, , , ,

The desire is real, the temptation is strong! This cold weather has me wanting to hibernate until Spring arrives. To just give up on ever stepping foot outside of my door, to just live virtually in a climate regulated bubble. Ideally that would be possible, but since it’s not I’ll just have to make due with being as prepared to deal with the cold as possible. Picking and choosing the activities that will provide the most benefit, that which I will be pleasantly surprised about.

Saturday night I went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday at Macao. Just hours before I really wanted to cancel and stay home to enjoy some tv. Instead, I honored my word and went; I had fun. I met some really nice and interesting people and enjoyed some really good liquor, and I do mean really good. 😉 I am glad I didn’t let the cold weather and my desire to hibernate stop me from going out and having some fun. So no, it’s not time to hibernate instead to rediscover the joie de vivre during this season of hibernation and holidays. This journey of rediscovery is quite exciting. 😀

Update: Guilty Pleasure

, ,

Hello All,

I haven’t forgotten you, it’s just been quite hectic. Many new tasks have been placed before me, keeping me quite occupied and sleepy. Yet, I am still rediscovering the joie de vivre. I am happy to report that my sister is also enjoying the shenanigans of the Chrisley family. It’s truly a good laugh had by all. If you are also interested, you can catch them on Tuesdays at 10pm on USA Network.

You’re welcome! 😉

Dry, Dry Everywhere.

, , ,

Fall is in full swing. It’s already November. 😮 How did that happen? Halloween is over, I hope you all had fun whether you dressed up or not. There are only 2 more Scandal episodes before the winter finale and I’m in hibernation mode. Does anyone else hibernate during the colder months?

Anyway, I remember why I don’t particularly like The Fall, I suffer from being dry, dry everywhere. Dry skin, dry hair, dry lips, dry nails; dry inside and dry outside. I am not a fan of dry and cold. Who really is? One would think the amount of water that I drink I wouldn’t suffer but apparently it still isn’t enough. 😦 Besides, I get bored drinking all of that water, don’t you?

At least this fall, my dry issues aren’t so bad. Layers are definitely the way to go; not only can you layer your clothes, you can also layer your beauty products. This has been the secret to not so dry, dry skin. A combination of damp skin, lotion and oil or baby oil gel works wonders for keeping the itchiness at bay. Now if only I can keep hydrated better than I have been doing then I will be cured of the dryness. I wonder if I should also change my body wash to something milder?

Chime in, do you suffer from dry skin? If so, how do you deal with it?

Guilty Pleasures

Psst…I have a secret to let you in on. I have a guilty pleasure…..ok a few; but the one I want to share with you all is that I am a fan of a reality show. Not all reality shows because some are truly stupid and flat-out annoying. The one show I will sit down and dedicate the time to watch is none other than Chrisley Knows Best.

This show is funny, yet wholesome; filled with witty one liners and come backs. A true gem of a find for me.

I just thought I share this secret of mine and invite you tolet me know a little secret of your own. What is your guilty pleasure? Leave them in the comments below.

Until next time. 🙂
